PCOS Symptoms: It is very important to understand!

Hello beautiful ladies out there! Today we will discuss a topic which is quite common but very confusing- PCOS, i.e. Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.

In this the hormones inside the body get imbalanced and negatively affect our health in many ways. Now lets understand what actually symptoms of this disease are seen in the body.

1. Irregular period

The most common symptom seen in PCOS is irregular periods. In this condition the primary function of the ovaries gets disturbed due to which hormones get imbalanced. Sometimes there is heavy bleeding and sometimes there is no bleeding at all. If you are also seeing such signs then it could be PCOS.

2. Unwanted Hair Growth

This is called HIRSUTISM in English. In this, unwanted hair growth starts on your face, chin, or back. This happens due to excess of testosterone hormone, which is a male hormone. This causes a lot of discomfort and is also a symptom of PCOS.

3. Acne and oily skin

During PCOS, the level of testosterone increases a lot which also increases the oil production in the skin. And the extra oil starts appearing on the chest on the back and generally this type of skin acne is seen in adolescence, it also happens in adulthood and that too at extreme level then its a sign of PCOS.

4. Weight gain, difficult to loose body fat

During PCOS the body develops insulin resistance which effects metabolism by slowing it down and which results in weight gain. this is more prominently seen around the belly area. Insulin resistance is the major cause of weight gain during PCOS.

5. Thinning of hair or hair loss

This means that unwanted hair growth occurs on different parts of the body but on the scalp there is thinning of hair line and excessive hair loss. so if you are facing such condition in your body then it might be giving INDICATION towards PCOS.

6. mood swings and emotional changes

PCOS not only affects the physical body but it affects your mental state too. During this mood swings, anxiety and sometimes depression is also seen. this incrases the stress level of body which makes the situation more challenging.

7. Darkening of Skin

The skin in some areas like neck, groin region and underarms becomes dark.This darkening of skin indicates insulin resistance. so if you are facing such darkness in patches around the body parts then this may also be the sign of PCOS.
